The Public Hearings

A judge, known as a Hearing Examiner, will listen to what the public has to say about the waterfront LID in July. He or she will accept verbal and/or written statements from the public and write a summary that will be delivered to the Seattle City Council in early September.

Let’s show them the will of the people. It will make a difference if thousands of us sound off. All of us should plan to attend a public hearing and make our voices heard. Here are the details.

You may submit written comment between July 13 and July 31, 2018.

You may turn in your letter in person at one of the meetings above, or mail to

Important Distinction

The verbal or written comment is not a protest vote. The protest votes are critical; if we get enough of them, we have the power to shut down the LID. You may turn in your protest vote to the hearing examiner. Learn more about the protest votes.
